"I hate sharks because I think they are dangerous."

This sentence has two subject-verbs, which is "I hate" and "I think." "Because" combines one indpendent clause which is "I hate sharks," and one dependent clause which is "I think they are dangerous."
2. Simple-
"The first independent clause is “It was blowing the boat over”.

This sentence has only one subject-verb; the subject is "This first independent clasue," and the verb is "is," and it is independent clause.
3. Compound-complex-
"I know it has the verb had, but what is the subject."

This sentence has one independent clause which is "I know" and two dependent clause which is "it has the verb had," and "what is the subject." This sentence, " I know it has the verb had," is complex sentence becuase it omits "that" between "know" and "it" and the sentecne should be like " I know that it has the verb had." "I know it has the verb had, but what is the subject" is compound sentence because "but" combines them.
4. Compound-
"The salt in the wood makes it slow to burn and it was difficult to light. "

This sentence has two independent clauses which is "the salt in the wood makes it slow to burn" and "it was difficult to light." "And" combines two independent clauses, so it is compound snetence.
